while listening to GD 3/28/69 at the Ice Palace.
1. We should all indeed be thankful to LAMA for bringing together some of the most intelligent, big-hearted and devoted Dead fans I've ever known! This forum of having thousands of shows to discuss and learn from is what I truly miss - not the free shows. A big hats off to all my reviewing brothers and sisters! i will miss hours of nightly entertainment reading your inspiring and hilarious show raves. And thanks for all the positive feedback too.

2. Little Feat is still here!! Go get 9/19/74 right now!!
I guarantee it will improve your mood.

3. Between us all who have been DLing - we've GOT the vault dudes! Time to go back to re-connecting and making new friends through trading and other options. Seek and ye shall find. It's just gonna take a little more effort. This is a generous community.

4. For the post-LAMA blues, I recommend listening to some
early 68-69 Dead, with Pigpen. It'll bring you right back to sanity. Before all the big money and the stadiums, this spirit and energy is what the Dead were really all about.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I have never posted here before, but I just wanted to thank all of the folks at the Archive for your immeasurable contribution to my and many, many other people's happiness. This whole thing is a bummer to say the least, but we'll take it furthur nonetheless.

Thank you Dr. Flashback for your reviews, which I always enjoyed reading. Your recommendation meant "insta download" for me, sound unheard.

Seasons change and roses die, but spring will come again folks. Peace....

Count me in on the trades! I don't know if what I have is a lot, but it's here for whoever asks (and some old-timey stuff too!)

Yeah, I agree with what the doctor wrote. There was more to this site than just downloading shows. It was the camaraderie just as much as the music. Anyway, I have a date with a piece of pie.
Count me in when we decide what to do, where to go, etc.

well said dr., well said...

also, as someone who was lucky enough to spend the majority of the last two years (or so) downloading dead shows from this site, any show that i came by that had a positive review by dr. flashback was always a guarantee...especially with the '72-'74 shows, it seemed to me like we sought the same things in the music...so to you dr. flashback, thank you for leading me down so many roads...

to all at the live music archive, thank you so much for this website, it landed in my lap one day a while ago, and i reveld in it, thank you so much, and keep up the good work...with or without the dead, this website is a treasure...

personally, i'm down for trades, or i'll burn shows for those who want if they just send blanks...alex_j_@hotmail.com...

"There's nothing you can hold for very long..."

it was never all about a website, it's about the living community the music created...that's my two cents...

Amen. I for one am ready, willing, and able to share what I have with others freely. I recently did a trade with someone, which I haven't done in a while what with downloads and all, and it was really nice to have the personal contact and have someone give me "the story" behind each of the tapes he was giving me. This scene, our scene, is not just about the music, it's about community. They can't take that.

And let's not get jaded about the music we love just because of this petty crap. Heck, we don't know and we may never no how much of a role the boys actually had in this decision. Until we know, let's not condemn the artists. After all, they do have a right to determine the ultimate disposition of their work.

Taking the Dr.'s suggestion and pulling out the ol' 2-14-68.
